As stated on my posts regarding the Wall Collaboration - the initial way of deciding ideas was to draw words from a hat for each person under a subheading. My word, to recap, was punk, and the following images and posts are revolving around the development of that character.
My imagery was really influenced by Jamie Hewlett's work - particularly Tank Girl. His style seemed appropriate to me, so I studied it and developed my own style in response.

My original drawing of my character was very crude - not only that, but the language used was vulgar. This sort of characteristic was taken from influences such as Viz magazine - a heavy usage of profanities. It was from this that I named my character Shithead - a foulmouthed often neutral superhero who's actions were questionable.
The most fun about designing a character who was apathetic at best was having her interact with the viewers - to me, she was more than just a drawing, I really dove head first into the whole character perspective of things and tried to create a 3D character from my 2D illustration. Though she is under the superhero heading, she did not necessarily have any superpowers - a complete lack of fear and an ability to fight were her pros, though she was intended not to have all the utility belts and gadgets of other superheroes who were born without powers (e.g. Batman and Iron Man).
Initially, the inspiration taken from Tank Girl (the whole military/punk imagery) was very much noticable, however was toned down in later developments. Though I was very happy with her personality, I wasn't quite 100% sure about her appearance.
